Can you measure liquid level without touching water? ADW reveals the secrets of ultrasonic water tank level monitoring

2024.08.08

What is non-contact level measurement technology?

Sensor can measure the liquid level of a water tank without contacting the water surface through advanced ultrasonic technology . The application of this product not only solves the limitations of traditional liquid level measurement methods, but also improves the accuracy and safety of measurement.

Water Tank Level Sensor

the height of the water tank liquid level in real time by emitting ultrasonic waves and receiving the time difference between the reflected echoes. This non-contact liquid level sensor integrates the transmission drive, receiving acquisition, signal processing, parameter storage and communication interaction. As the core sensing component of the liquid level detection system, the product is installed in the base station water tank of the sweeping robot and forms a warning system with the water adding loop, providing timely liquid level sensing guarantee for the robot's "no water warning", "full sewage tank", "insufficient clean water" and other situations, helping it to achieve fully automatic cleaning.

Non-contact measurement, suitable for all kinds of liquids

The water tank level sensor can detect the liquid level of various liquids in the range of 15 ~ 500mm through echo detection technology and TOF measurement technology . Thanks to the non-contact detection method, the product is free of corrosion and other interference when performing liquid level detection, and is not affected by the chemical properties of the liquid . It has excellent accuracy, flexibility, stability and reliability , and can achieve accurate liquid level monitoring for various liquids such as pure water, sewage, and foam water .

Intelligent perception, accurate warning

The water tank level sensor has a built-in signal output function. Combined with the AI algorithm, it can simultaneously realize "no water warning", "full sewage tank", "insufficient clean water" and other situation warnings . As shown in the figure below, after the sweeping robot base station is powered on, the controller and MCU are started at the same time. The MCU sends a pulse signal to drive the sensor to work. The time difference between the ultrasonic signal sent and received by the sensor will be amplified as an electrical signal, processed and transmitted back to the MCU, and then converted into a digital signal. This signal will be used to benchmark the preset standard echo time difference to monitor whether the current liquid level meets the cleaning requirements . The controller will issue warnings for water tank conditions such as "no water warning", "full sewage tank", and "insufficient clean water" by judging whether the liquid level reported by the sensor is lower than (or higher than) the minimum (or maximum) liquid level required for pre-cleaning.

Continuous measurement, 24-hour monitoring

The continuous measurement advantage of ADW water tank level sensor can help the sweeping robot liquid level detection system to achieve 24-hour all-weather monitoring. When the product detects the liquid level, the sound waves emitted can penetrate metal, plastic and other materials into the liquid and accurately receive the echo signal, ensuring high-precision liquid level detection.

Good sealing performance, seamless load bearing

launched by ADW mainly consists of two parts: a silicone sleeve and a sensor. The sensor is fully encapsulated with glue, has good sealing performance, and a protection level of up to IP67, with strong waterproof and dustproof capabilities. The water tank level sensor installed in the base station of the sweeping robot is pressed under the water tank. The silicone sleeve serves as a coupling layer between the sensor and the water tank. The small holes on both sides of the silicone sleeve can discharge the gap gas generated when the sensor is squeezed, ensuring seamless load-bearing of the sensor and high-precision detection results.
